RE : 2nd MEMO 18TH SFC INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE Ref.No.301010

Christ’s Peace be with you!

As we gear up for the 18th SFC International Conference with enthusiasm, we now share with you our theme for this conference - “I STAND”. This theme is inspired by the over-all theme of CFC in its 30th Anniversary – “put on the full armor of God” from Ephesians 6:10-18.

The conference will be held on February 18-20, 2011 at the Cam Sur Water Sports Complex (CWC) in Camarines Sur. We continue to urge you to rally your members to register and prepare to avoid any inconveniences. Registration is at Php 1,200 (for Philippine registrants only) and the deadline is set on December 17, 2010. Please note that we will not entertain any walk-in registration. For our International delegates, kindly contact Junie Romero at junieromero@sfcglobal.org.

We would also like to announce that the Global Leaders Summit for 2011 will be in October 21 – 23, 2011 and not after the ICON. We will send you the details as soon as we finalize all the arrangements.

With this memo we are also releasing guidelines for Accommodations, Transportation, Pre-Icon Activities, and Tours. Please see attached.

For your reference, please note:
Accommodations Guidelines
SFC ICON Accommodations Committee will facilitate the booking of the Accommodations inside CWC.

Transportation Guidelines
Transportation Committee will provide a Transportation list from Manila to Naga. You are asked to take charge of the flight and/or trip bookings for your respective chapters. Transportation within Naga can be arranged by the committee upon request.

Pre-Icon Activity Guidelines

We will be launching SFC VOLUNTOURISM from February 16 until February 18, 2010 in Camarines
Sur. SFC VOLUNTOURISM is a combined tour and volunteer work (acts of service) program package. It’s our way of giving back to the place we are visiting by making a positive impact through our travel.

Tours Guidelines

The Cam Sur Provincial Tourism Office may arrange Tour Packages for SFC Delegates to enjoy their stay in Camarines Sur. For more details please read the attached guidelines.

We are blessed to serve God through you in this ICON, and would love to hear your comments and suggestions for us to serve you more effectively. Kindly contact Michael Shok Ariola at mfcariola@yahoo.com for further queries and comments.

May God be praised!

FROM : 18TH SINGLES FOR CHRIST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE TEAM

RE : 1ST MEMO 18TH SFC INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE Ref.No.140810

Greetings in Christ!

We are pleased to announce the start of the formal registration process of our 18th Singles for Christ International Conference (SFC ICON)! This conference will be held from February 18 – 20, 2011. We also delighted to share that the Couple Coordinators Conference is once again included in the program.

For our 18th birthday as SFCs, the Lord has allowed us to hold our SFC ICON at Camarines Sur, one of the country’s fastest growing tourist destinations in the Philippines. We are extremely excited to announce that the world renowned Camsur Watersports Complex (CWC) will serve as our conference venue for the ICON.

We encourage and invite all SFC areas to send their delegations and be part of the start of the next phase of our ministry’s life. Registration fee will be Php1, 200.00 for Philippine delegates. Deadline is on December 17, 2010.

As we continue to grow our hearts to be one with Christ, we are making our registration for this conference more meaningful by integrating the fee with our One Hope advocacy. As part of SFCs work with the poor, particularly in raising funds to provide scholarships to qualified elementary, high school and college students, we are appropriating proceeds from each paying SFC ICON delegate’s registration fee to be used as seed money that will fund the schooling of at least 1,800 children.

As we would like this 18th ICON to be the biggest conference in the history of our SFC ministry, we have come up with special individual and group promotions that can be availed of by delegates who register in advance.

PROMO TYPE DEADLINE INCENTIVES

Early Bird Promo October 15, 2010 Registration Fee of P1,200 inclusive of official ICON shirt which can be claimed on the Conference day at the FLAME booth.

‘Debut’ Promo – 18 + ½ November 16, 2010 Chapter mobilization incentive. For every 18 full paying delegates registered by a chapter, the 19th delegate is eligible for a 50% discount on the registration fee.

Christmas Promo Blitz December 17, 2010 Sector mobilization blitz. The first two (2) sectors in Metro Manila, the first two (2) Luzon provinces, the first two (2) provinces in the Visayas and the first 2 provinces in Mindanao to register their allocated number of delegates will be eligible for guaranteed group seating during the conference.

Detailed guidelines regarding the other matters of the conference like Accommodation, Transportation, Workshops, Tours, and Pre-ICON activities will follow shortly. Everybody Surrenders to Something
by Rick Warren

Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God, but laid aside his mighty power and glory, taking the disguise of a slave and becoming like men. Philippians 2:6-7 (LB)
Everybody surrenders to something or someone in life. If not to God, you'll surrender to popular opinion, to money, to resentment or fear, or to your own pride, lust, and ego.
We were designed to worship something, and when we fail to worship God, we create gods (idols) to surrender ourselves to. E. Stanley Jones said, "If you don't surrender to Christ, you surrender to chaos." You're free to choose what you surrender to, but you're not free from the consequences of that choice: "So give yourselves completely to God" (James 4:7 NCV).

Surrender is not the best way to live; it is the only way to live. Nothing else works. All other approaches lead to frustration, disappointment, and self-destruction.
The King James Version of Romans 12:1 calls surrender "your reasonable service." The Contemporary English Version translates it: "the most sensible way to serve God."
Surrendering your life is not a foolish emotional impulse but a rational, intelligent act, the most responsible and sensible thing you can do with your life. Your wisest moments will be those when you say yes to God: "So we make it our goal to please him ..." (2 Corinthians 5:9 NIV).
Sometimes it takes years, but eventually you discover the greatest hindrance to God's blessing in your life is not others, it is yourself - your self will, stubborn pride, and personal ambition. You cannot fulfill God's purposes for your life while focusing on your own plans. If God is going to do his deepest work in you, it will begin with this.
So give it all to God: your past regrets; your present problems; your future ambitions; your fears, dreams, weaknesses, habits, hurts, and hang-ups. Put Christ in the driver's seat of your life and take your hands off the steering wheel. Don't be afraid; nothing under his control can ever be out of control.
Mastered by Christ, you can handle anything: "I am ready for anything and equal to anything through him who infuses inner strength into me. I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency" (Philippians 4:13 AMP).
You may worry, "What if I stumble or relapse?"
If? You will stumble in pleasing God! No one can live a perfectly surrendered life except Jesus.
But God has provided for the inevitability of your sin: "If you do sin, there is someone to plead for you before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who pleases God completely" (1 John 2:1 LB).

The Practice of Surrender
by Rick Warren

"If people want to follow me, they must give up the things they want. They must be willing even to give up their lives to follow me." Matthew 16:24 (NCV)
"When you decide to live a totally surrendered life, that decision will be tested. Sometimes it will mean doing inconvenient, unpopular, costly, or seemingly impossible tasks. It will often mean doing the opposite of what you feel like doing."

Paul's moment of surrender occurred on the Damascus road after he was knocked down by blinding light. For others, less drastic methods are needed to get our attention. Regardless, surrendering is never just a one-time event. Paul said, "I die daily." (1 Corinthians 15:31 NASB)

There is a moment of surrender and there is the practice of surrender.
The practice of surrender requires perseverance. It is moment-by-moment and lifelong. You may have to re-surrender your life fifty times a day: "If people want to follow me, they must give up the things they want. They must be willing even to give up their lives [daily] to follow me." (Matthew 16:24 NCV)

Let me warn you: When you decide to live a totally surrendered life, that decision will be tested. Sometimes it will mean doing inconvenient, unpopular, costly, or seemingly impossible tasks. It will often mean doing the opposite of what you feel like doing.
"Those who are living by their natural inclinations have their minds on the things human nature desires; those who live in the Spirit have their minds on spiritual things." (Romans 8:5 NJB)

We are, by nature, self-centered. When hurt by someone, your natural inclination is to hurt back. It is natural to hoard money instead of generously sharing it, to defend yourself when criticized, to hide your mistakes instead of confessing them, and to try to impress others. You can usually figure out what will please God by doing the opposite of your natural inclination.

Bill Bright founded Campus Crusade for Christ. Through the worldwide Crusade staff, his tract The Four Spiritual Laws, and the JESUS film (seen by over one billion people), it's estimated that over 150 million people have come to Christ and will spend eternity in heaven.
I once asked Bill, "Why did God use and bless your life so much?" He said, "When I was a young man I made a contract with God. I literally wrote it out and signed my name at the bottom. It said 'From this day forward, I am a slave of Jesus Christ.'"
Have you signed a contract like that with God? Or, are you still arguing and struggling with God over his right to do with your life as he pleases?
It is time to surrender - to God's grace, love, and wisdom.
